Sharonna Moore's Story

"The food pantries don’t have fresh produce options. We are developing a section of the garden where people can go and pick their food for free. They can see where their food comes from and, in exchange for labor, get the produce. That gives people a more dignified free food experience than they would have going to the food pantry."

— Sharrona Moore, Founder of Lawrence Community Garden and #HealthiestCitiesChallenge participant

In addition to helping improve healthy habits for local children, the@JumpINforHealthyKids program is also working to improve accessibility to healthy food options for those who cannot afford it.
